recognize Byron and Peggy Nelson for their meritorious community SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 1-1 WHEREAS, The Legislature of the State of Texas is pleased to 1-2 recognize Byron and Peggy Nelson for their meritorious community 1-3 service; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Active in civic and philanthropic endeavors, Byron 1-5 and Peggy were the Honorary Chairpersons for the seventh annual 1-6 golf tournament benefitting the Metroport Meals on Wheels; and 1-7 WHEREAS, As chairs of this event, Byron and Peggy devoted 1-8 their time and energy to assure a successful fundraiser; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Meals on Wheels serves the needs of the homebound 1-10 and senior citizens in Roanoke, Trophy Club, Westlake, Keller, 1-11 Colleyville, Southlake, Grapevine, Haslet, Justin, and Argyle; and 1-12 WHEREAS, The volunteers who take time out from their busy 1-13 schedules to deliver these meals to deserving citizens are to be 1-14 commended for their interest in serving the needy; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Often the contact between those served and the 1-16 volunteers is the only interaction the recipients have with the 1-17 outside world; the volunteers are pleased to provide this service 1-18 also; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Byron and Peggy Nelson are to be commended for their 1-20 unstinting work and support of this fine grassroots organization; 1-21 now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the 76th Legislature of the State of Texas 1-23 hereby congratulate Peggy and Byron Nelson for their outstanding 1-24 support of this extremely worthy cause; and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That a copy of this resolution be prepared for them 2-2 as an expression of the highest regard of the Texas Legislature. _______________________________ _______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I hereby certify that S.C.R.
