                            SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
 1-1           WHEREAS, Texas has been blessed with an abundance of natural
 1-2     resources; and
 1-3           WHEREAS, The enjoyment of Texas' natural resources is an
 1-4     economic asset throughout the state; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, The mission of the Texas Parks and Wildlife
 1-6     Department is to preserve and protect the natural resources of
 1-7     Texas; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Dedicated funding currently provided to the Texas
 1-9     Parks and Wildlife Department is insufficient to preserve and
1-10     protect the natural resources of this great state; and
1-11           WHEREAS, The enjoyment of our natural resources by future
1-12     generations of Texans is dependent on adequate and secure funding;
1-13     and
1-14           WHEREAS, The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will be
1-15     undergoing the sunset review process during the upcoming interim;
1-16     now, therefore, be it
1-17           RESOLVED, That the 76th Legislature of the State of Texas
1-18     hereby direct that the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and the
1-19     Sunset Advisory Commission shall include a review of appropriate
1-20     sources of dedicated funding for financing the programs
1-21     administered by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in the
1-22     sunset review process; and, be it further
1-23           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
1-24     prepared and forwarded to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission
 2-1     and the Sunset Advisory Commission.
