1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 38 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in 1-3 recognizing Dr. Robert T. Gunby, Jr., on his outstanding service 1-4 as the 1998 president of the Dallas County Medical Society; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Formerly an obstetrical resident at Baylor 1-6 University Medical Center, Dr. Gunby later became president 1-7 of the university's medical staff and has continued to serve 1-8 in the field of obstetrics with remarkable skill and dedication; 1-9 and 1-10 WHEREAS, Dr. Gunby is beloved and respected by his colleagues, 1-11 who speak highly of his diplomacy, his judgment, and his natural 1-12 talent; he is devoted to his profession and takes a deep personal 1-13 interest in each of his patients; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Dr. Gunby became interested in legislative affairs 1-15 during college and became actively involved in political issues 1-16 through the Texas Medical Association; he serves on the local 1-17 TEXPAC board of directors and plans to continue to be politically 1-18 involved on both the state and county levels; and 1-19 WHEREAS, As president of the Dallas County Medical 1-20 Society, Dr. Gunby dealt with issues regarding managed care 1-21 and used his wealth of experience and expertise to guide the 1-22 society successfully through the year; and 1-23 WHEREAS, Dr. Robert Gunby is an exemplary and distinguished 1-24 gentleman, whose leadership has proved to be a tremendous asset 2-1 to the Dallas County Medical Society, and his accomplishments as 2-2 its 115th president are an inspiration to his fellow physicians; 2-3 now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-5 76th Legislature, hereby commend Dr. Robert T.
