1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 62
 1-2           WHEREAS, The Marriage Ministry of Mount Moriah Baptist
 1-3     Church is honoring the best examples of long-lived marriages by
 1-4     inducting into its Golden Hall of Fame the spouses who reached
 1-5     their 50th anniversary in 1998; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, One of the couples being honored in this way is
 1-7     Cleothia and Myrtle McWright, who were educated in Louisiana;
 1-8     and
 1-9           WHEREAS, After meeting in Winnfield, Louisiana,
1-10     Mr. and Mrs. McWright were married on October 5, 1948, at
1-11     the preacher's home; and
1-12           WHEREAS, This devoted couple has four children,
1-13     Vanessa McWright, Beverly Pickney, Sherry McWright, and
1-14     Clarence McWright; and three grandchildren, Laquita, Hollie,
1-15     and Minnie; and one great-grandchild, Demetris; and
1-16           WHEREAS, By having mutual respect, a sense of humor,
1-17     a zest for life, and an unwavering love for one another,
1-18     Mr. and Mrs. McWright serve as outstanding examples of a
1-19     couple with a happy and successful marriage; and
1-20           WHEREAS, They are devoutly religious; Cleothia's favorite
1-21     scripture is Psalm 23, and Myrtle's favorite scriptures are
1-22     Psalms 23 and 91; now, therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-24     76th Legislature, hereby congratulate Cleothia and Myrtle McWright
 2-1     on their happy marriage; and, be it further
 2-2           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 2-3     this fortunate couple as an expression of the highest regard of
 2-4     the Texas Senate.
