1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 63
 1-2           WHEREAS, The Texas Senate takes great pleasure in recognizing
 1-3     James and Glenora Johnson as they are being inducted in The
 1-4     Marriage Ministry of Mount Moriah Memorial Baptist Church for
 1-5     being one of the finest examples of the longevity of wedded bliss;
 1-6     and
 1-7           WHEREAS, Glenora met James while they were traveling on the
 1-8     Southern Pacific from Los Angeles to Mississippi, and they were
 1-9     married on October 4, 1948; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Mrs. Johnson was educated in Los Angeles, and he
1-11     obtained his education in Huntsville; and
1-12           WHEREAS, God's grace and blessings have been bestowed on
1-13     Mr. and Mrs. Johnson who have one daughter, Joyce L. Sampay; she
1-14     has presented her parents with a grandchild, Taiwan L. Reginald,
1-15     two great-grandchildren, Montrice and Teshell, and one
1-16     great-great-grandchild, Miss "T" Tiara; and
1-17           WHEREAS, Two people who lead their lives according to their
1-18     religious principles, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson's favorite song is
1-19     "O, How I Love Jesus" and their favorite scripture is Psalm 23; and
1-20           WHEREAS, The achievement of this important 50-year milestone
1-21     is a result of the love, devotion, and mutual respect of two
1-22     outstanding people; now, therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-24     76th Legislature, hereby congratulate James and Glenora Johnson
 2-1     on their long and fortunate marriage; and, be it further
 2-2           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 2-3     this distinguished couple as an expression of the highest esteem of
 2-4     the Texas Senate.
