1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 80
 1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great pride
 1-3     in recognizing the members of the Lake Whitney All Branch Law
 1-4     Enforcement on the occasion of their awards banquet, which is
 1-5     being held February 20, 1999; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, Exemplary individuals of courage and high moral
 1-7     principles, the law enforcement officers of Texas dedicate their
 1-8     lives to making the streets of our communities safer places in
 1-9     which to live, work, and raise our families; and
1-10           WHEREAS, The legacy of the Texas lawman began with a small
1-11     band of men hired by Stephen F. Austin to provide protection for
1-12     the early settlers; the renowned Texas Rangers set the stage for
1-13     the standards of excellence that members of our police departments
1-14     and sheriffs departments across the state continue to uphold today;
1-15     and
1-16           WHEREAS, Our law officers are exceptional men and women who
1-17     deal daily with the unique challenges of law enforcement duty and
1-18     who face countless dangerous situations in their efforts to provide
1-19     protection for the citizens of Texas; and
1-20           WHEREAS, The members of the Lake Whitney All Branch Law
1-21     Enforcement have consistently displayed valor, integrity, and
1-22     professionalism; the organization's contributions to the
1-23     community include providing scholarships to worthy students and
1-24     bringing recognition to the work of its outstanding officers; and
 2-1           WHEREAS, The banquet on February 20 provides an opportunity
 2-2     for area citizens to express appreciation for the innumerable
 2-3     contributions of the members of the Lake Whitney All Branch Law
 2-4     Enforcement to their community and state; now, therefore, be it
 2-5           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-6     76th Legislature, hereby commend the members of the Lake Whitney
 2-7     All Branch Law Enforcement on their dedication and superior
 2-8     service as our state's peace officers; and, be it further
 2-9           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-10     them as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
