1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 81 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride 1-3 in recognizing James Madison High School of Dallas, Texas, 1-4 on its celebration of more than 40 years of excellence in 1-5 education; and 1-6 WHEREAS, On February 19, 1999, this exemplary school 1-7 will hold an assembly entitled "The Legacy Continues: The 1-8 Making of a Pro" as part of their yearlong celebration; and 1-9 WHEREAS, At least 12 professional athletes graduated 1-10 from James Madison High School, two basketball players and 1-11 10 professional football players; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Their discipline and character necessary 1-13 for success were formed while they were student athletes 1-14 at James Madison High School; and 1-15 WHEREAS, These professional athletes will be honored at 1-16 the February 19 assembly as an inspiration and motivating force 1-17 in the lives of the current students of their alma mater; now, 1-18 therefore, be it 1-19 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-20 76th Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to James Madison 1-21 High School for more than 40 years of service to its students and 1-22 the Dallas community and best wishes for a successful assembly on 1-23 February 19; and, be it further 1-24 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared 2-1 for "The Legacy Continues: The Making of a Pro" assembly as 2-2 an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-3 West 2-4 ______________________________________ 2-5 President of the Senate 2-6 I hereby certify that the above 2-7 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-8 on January 26, 1999. 2-9 ______________________________________ 2-10 Secretary of the Senate 2-11 ______________________________________ 2-12 Member, Texas Senate
