1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 125
 1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas congratulates
 1-3     Gilbert Kissling for nearly seven years of service to Texas
 1-4     as the administrator for the State Board of Plumbing Examiners;
 1-5     and
 1-6           WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman served in that position
 1-7     from April 1, 1992, to December 31, 1998, and brought a wealth
 1-8     of experience to the job; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, He became a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters
1-10     union in 1950 and contributed countless hours to serve the union
1-11     by holding a variety of offices until he became employed on a
1-12     full-time basis there 23 years later; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Mr. Kissling was also active in his profession from
1-14     1957 to the early 1980s by serving in different positions for
1-15     the San Antonio Central Labor Council and for six years as its
1-16     president; and
1-17           WHEREAS, Mr. Kissling again accepted leadership roles in
1-18     his professional memberships by holding positions on the Texas
1-19     Building and Construction Trades Council and the AFL-CIO Housing
1-20     Trust boards, as well as serving as Vice President of the AFL-CIO
1-21     from 1978 to 1992; and
1-22           WHEREAS, Mr. Kissling also values his role as a devoted
1-23     husband and loving father and grandfather; he has been married
1-24     for 41 years to his wife, Irene, and is deservedly proud of
 2-1     his five sons and two grandsons; now, therefore, be it
 2-2           RESOLVED, That the Senate of Texas, 76th Legislature,
 2-3     hereby commend Gilbert Kissling for his years of service as an
 2-4     administrator for the State Board of Plumbing Examiners; and, be
 2-5     it further
 2-6           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 2-7     Mr. Kissling as an expression of the gratitude and high regard
 2-8     of the Texas Senate.
