1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 143
 1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride
 1-3     in recognizing Ennis High School of the Ennis Independent School
 1-4     District on its recent selection as one of the 96 outstanding
 1-5     high schools in the nation; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, A study of 1,300 high schools was conducted by
 1-7     the University of Chicago's National Opinion Research Center in
 1-8     conjunction with U.S. News and World Report; of the 96 high
 1-9     schools reported as outstanding, nine were from the North Texas
1-10     area; and
1-11           WHEREAS, This exceptional accomplishment reflects the
1-12     superior leadership of the school's administration, the talent and
1-13     dedication of its faculty, and the degree of parent and community
1-14     involvement; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Ennis High School is widely recognized as a
1-16     first-rate institution with a sound academic curriculum and
1-17     well-disciplined students who are high achievers; and
1-18           WHEREAS, The school consistently aims at providing
1-19     resources, programs, and experiences that will inspire excellence
1-20     in student performance, and the students are proud of the fine
1-21     education they receive; now, therefore, be it
1-22           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-23     76th Legislature, hereby commend Ennis High School for its
1-24     success and extend congratulations to all associated with the
 2-1     school for its selection as one of our nation's most outstanding;
 2-2     and, be it further
 2-3           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
 2-4     school as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
