1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 194 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in 1-3 recognizing Romaldo Allen and in proclaiming February 12, 1999, 1-4 as Romaldo Allen Day in the State of Texas; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Mr. Allen is well known for his outstanding work 1-6 with the youth of the community; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Since moving to the Texas area eight years ago, 1-8 Romaldo Allen has had a positive impact on the lives of countless 1-9 sick, underprivileged, and disadvantaged young people; and 1-10 WHEREAS, A gifted lecturer and community leader, Mr. Allen 1-11 is frequently sought after to give speeches on such subjects as 1-12 HIV and health and prevention; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Mr. Allen's new Texas-based national organization 1-14 was asked to speak on National AIDS Day and to represent the 1-15 country at the 30th anniversary of the Montgomery Bus Boycott; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Listed in Who's Who in Business in Black America, 1-17 he is an exceptionally dedicated and resourceful individual whose 1-18 concern for others is legendary; and 1-19 WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman, a respected humanitarian, 1-20 and a man of many talents, Mr. Allen has contributed greatly to 1-21 his community and to the State of Texas; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-23 76th Legislature, hereby express appreciation to Romaldo Allen 1-24 for his many accomplishments and for the time and energy he has 2-1 graciously devoted to young people of all ages; and, be it further 2-2 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him 2-3 as a memento of Romaldo Allen Day and as an expression of esteem 2-4 from the Texas Senate. 2-5 West 2-6 ______________________________________ 2-7 President of the Senate 2-8 I hereby certify that the above 2-9 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-10 on February 11, 1999. 2-11 ______________________________________ 2-12 Secretary of the Senate 2-13 ______________________________________ 2-14 Member, Texas Senate
