 1-3                                  In Memory
 1-4                                     of
 1-5                              Rudolfo A. Casas
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 1-7     citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Rudolfo A. Casas,
 1-8     who died February 5, 1999, at the age of 71; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Born on February 4, 1928, in San Antonio, Texas,
1-10     Rudolfo Casas attended The University of Texas at Austin and
1-11     Saint Mary's University; he served in the United States Navy
1-12     from 1945 to 1949; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Mr. Casas was dedicated to his family and to his
1-14     work as a structural steel engineer; he was a devout Christian
1-15     and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where he served as
1-16     a lecturer and head usher; he was a member of the Knights of
1-17     Columbus; and
1-18           WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman, Rudolfo was respected in
1-19     the community for his many accomplishments; and
1-20           WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, he
1-21     gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, warmth,
1-22     and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him;
1-23     and
1-24           WHEREAS, Rudolfo Casas was a devoted husband, father,
 2-1     and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be
 2-2     treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore,
 2-3     be it
 2-4           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-5     76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
 2-6     bereaved family of Rudolfo A. Casas:  his wife of over 43 years,
 2-7     Evangeline Casas; his daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and
 2-8     Ernest Estrada, Adela Borlinghaus, and Elizabeth and Jon Villarreal;
 2-9     and his granddaughters, Erica Nicole and Lauren Elizabeth Estrada;
2-10     and, be it further
2-11           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
2-12     for the members of his family as an expression of deepest
2-13     sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate
2-14     adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rudolfo A. Casas.
