 1-4                                     of
 1-5                              Fred J. Brandesky
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
 1-7     of Corpus Christi, Texas, in mourning the loss of Fred J. Brandesky,
 1-8     who died February 6, 1999, at the age of 70; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Mr. Brandesky attended Del Mar College after
1-10     graduating in 1945 from Corpus Christi High School; and
1-11           WHEREAS, During the Korean War, he served his country in
1-12     the conflict by joining the United States Navy; and
1-13           WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished gentleman,
1-14     Mr. Brandesky was respected for his many accomplishments and
1-15     was a beloved leader in his community; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Mr. Brandesky was a dedicated member of the American
1-17     Legion Post 364 and served as its commander in 1961 and 1992; and
1-18           WHEREAS, His faith was an important part of Fred Brandesky's
1-19     life; he was a member of the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church
1-20     and the Catholic Union of Texas, K.J.T.; and
1-21           WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, he
1-22     gave unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, warmth,
1-23     and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him;
1-24     and
 2-1           WHEREAS, Fred Brandesky was a devoted husband and father,
 2-2     and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by
 2-3     his family and friends; now, therefore, be it
 2-4           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-5     76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
 2-6     family of Fred J. Brandesky:  his wife, Betty; his sons, Richard
 2-7     and James; his daughters, Tina and Belita; his brothers, Charles,
 2-8     Robert, and Thomas; and his grandson, Michael; and, be it further
 2-9           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as
2-10     an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and
2-11     that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
2-12     Fred J. Brandesky.
