 1-3                                  In Memory
 1-4                                     of
 1-5                         Kathryn Madge Finigan Deres
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
 1-7     of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Kathryn Madge Finigan Deres,
 1-8     who died February 20, 1999; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Born in Timpson, Texas, on October 13, 1921, she
1-10     moved to San Antonio and graduated from Jefferson High School in
1-11     1939; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Kathryn Finigan married Joe August Deres on
1-13     July 19, 1940, and they had a secure and happy marriage during
1-14     their years together; and
1-15           WHEREAS, Mrs. Deres was a dedicated supporter of many
1-16     different associations and causes; she was a member and past
1-17     president of Rotary Inner Wheel, a member of the First Presbyterian
1-18     Church, and a member of the Live Oak Garden Club; and
1-19           WHEREAS, A well-known civic leader, she was a member of the
1-20     Salvation Army Auxiliary, and she volunteered at the San Antonio
1-21     Botanical Center and the McNay Art Museum; she was a past member
1-22     of the President's Club; and
1-23           WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished lady, Mrs. Deres
1-24     was respected for her many accomplishments and was a leader in her
 2-1     community; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, Mrs. Deres was a devoted wife, mother, and
 2-3     grandmother, and she leaves behind memories which will be
 2-4     treasured always by her family and many friends; now, therefore,
 2-5     be it
 2-6           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-7     76th Legislature, hereby express sincere condolences to the
 2-8     members of her family:  her husband, Joe A. Deres; her daughter
 2-9     and son-in-law, Deborah Kathryn and Frank King; her granddaughter,
2-10     Meredith Kathryn King; and her sister, Betty Jean Krafft; and, be
2-11     it further
2-12           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
2-13     members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
2-14     Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
2-15     in memory of Kathryn Madge Finigan Deres.
