 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 344
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in
 1-4     recognizing HomeBank for its 47 years of outstanding service
 1-5     to the Seagoville community and its four years of service to
 1-6     the people of East Dallas; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, HomeBank was originally the Seagoville State Bank,
 1-8     which was founded in 1952 by W. A. Waldrop and was located on
 1-9     the corner of North Kaufman and Elm streets; in 1953, the bank
1-10     was purchased by M. D. "Pappy" Reeves, and in 1967, it was moved
1-11     to the corner of Glendale and Highway 175; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Under the exceptional leadership of Pappy Reeves,
1-13     and later his children, the bank grew exponentially, and it
1-14     continues today to be a family-owned banking facility, with the
1-15     children of Pappy Reeves actively participating in its management
1-16     and shareholding; and
1-17           WHEREAS, Since its move in 1967, the bank has expanded
1-18     three times, and its assets have grown from $700,000 to more than
1-19     $88 million; in 1995, the bank acquired a second branch, the
1-20     former Buckner State Bank in East Dallas, and the board of
1-21     directors officially changed the name of both banks to HomeBank;
1-22     and
1-23           WHEREAS, Over the years, HomeBank has continued the
1-24     tradition set by Pappy Reeves who believed in small-town
 2-1     courtesy and genuine concern for customers and their needs;
 2-2     the bank is community oriented and has undertaken such projects
 2-3     as sponsoring the renovation of homes in low-income housing; and
 2-4           WHEREAS, HomeBank offers stability and superior services to
 2-5     the people of Seagoville and East Dallas, and as one of the
 2-6     last independent banks in Texas, it deserves recognition for its
 2-7     success; now, therefore, be it
 2-8           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-9     76th Legislature, hereby pay tribute to HomeBank for its
2-10     accomplishments in the banking field and extend best wishes
2-11     to the owners, management, and staff for the future; and, be it
2-12     further
2-13           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-14     HomeBank as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
