1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 417
 1-2           WHEREAS, Throughout its history the State of Texas has
 1-3     maintained a commitment to the principle of protecting private
 1-4     property, and since 1920, members of the Texas Association of
 1-5     REALTORS have supported this vital principle; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, Each day, REALTORS provide valuable professional
 1-7     services that enable their fellow Texans to buy, sell, lease,
 1-8     develop, and manage real estate in a knowledgeable and confident
 1-9     manner; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Over the years, Texas REALTORS have worked
1-11     diligently within the regulatory process to promote and raise
1-12     their business practices, and the term "REALTOR" has come to stand
1-13     for competence, fairness, and integrity; and
1-14           WHEREAS, The 45,000 members of the Texas Association of
1-15     REALTORS have consistently supported responsible government as well
1-16     as the entrepreneurial spirit that is the backbone of our state's
1-17     economy, and they are indeed worthy of special recognition at this
1-18     time; now, therefore, be it
1-19           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-20     76th Legislature, hereby recognize March 17, 1999, as REALTOR
1-21     Appreciation Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm welcome
1-22     to members of the Texas Association of REALTORS on the occasion
1-23     of their visit to the State Capitol; and, be it further
1-24           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
 2-1     prepared for the Texas Association of REALTORS as an expression
 2-2     of high regard by the Texas Senate.
