1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 435
 1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 1-3     recognize James O. Daughtry of Tyler, an outstanding citizen
 1-4     and a trailblazer in the real estate profession in Texas; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, James Daughtry was one of those individuals who
 1-6     were licensed by the Texas Real Estate Commission when it was
 1-7     first established 50 years ago; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Since its creation in 1949, the Texas Real Estate
 1-9     Commission has consistently pursued its mission of protecting
1-10     Texas consumers, encouraging economic growth, and assuring the
1-11     public of qualified and honest real estate professionals; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Today, the commission continues to carry out its
1-13     responsibilities through its licensing and education programs and
1-14     enforcement of regulatory standards; and
1-15           WHEREAS, In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the
1-16     commission honored James Daughtry and two other of the agency's
1-17     original licensees at a luncheon hosted by the Greater Tyler
1-18     Association of Realtors at the Willow Brook Country Club on
1-19     February 24, 1999; and
1-20           WHEREAS, James Daughtry is an exemplary gentleman who
1-21     has been dedicated to the real estate profession and who has
1-22     represented his profession with dignity, integrity, and the high
1-23     standards of the Texas Real Estate Commission; now, therefore,
1-24     be it
 2-1           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-2     76th Legislature, hereby commend James O. Daughtry on his
 2-3     successful career in real estate and extend congratulations
 2-4     to him on being honored by the Texas Real Estate Commission;
 2-5     and, be it further
 2-6           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 2-7     Mr. Daughtry as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
