 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 494
 1-3           WHEREAS, Rudolph Miller, of Wellington, Texas, and
 1-4     Mary Jo McClure, of Springlake, Texas, placed great faith in
 1-5     themselves and their future when they married on April 4, 1944,
 1-6     in Plainview, Texas; on this, the occasion of their 55th wedding
 1-7     anniversary, they have been amply rewarded for their commitment;
 1-8     and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Many years have passed since Mr. and Mrs. Miller were
1-10     married; they have remained true to their vows and devoted to one
1-11     another and their family; today, their union endures; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Miller's devotion to one another has
1-13     been the source of much joy; their love has seen them through
1-14     life's many trials; after their marriage, Rudolph joined the
1-15     service during World War II; upon his return from service, the
1-16     couple moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1952, where Rudolph
1-17     owned a commercial printing company, Humphrey Printing; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Miller are active members of the
1-19     Wichita Falls community; Rudolph has served as Lieutenant Governor
1-20     of Kiwanis International with perfect attendance for the past 40
1-21     years; he is an elder of Edgemere Church of Christ and has served
1-22     on many boards of directors, including the Wichita Falls Symphony,
1-23     the local museum, the First National Bank, and the Rehabilitation
1-24     Hospital; likewise, Mary Jo is a devoted Wichita Falls citizen,
 2-1     serving on many local committees and actively participating in the
 2-2     community's Woman's Forum; and
 2-3           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Miller have been blessed with a wonderful
 2-4     family; their daughter, Rena Miller Haney, and son-in-law,
 2-5     Lonnie Haney, have been the source of much pride and joy; Rudolph
 2-6     and Mary Jo also cherish their granddaughter, Celeste Haney Keeney,
 2-7     her husband, Korby Keeney, and their only great-grandchild,
 2-8     Cooper Dean Keeney; and
 2-9           WHEREAS, The long and successful union of Mr. and Mrs. Miller
2-10     is certainly inspiring; now, therefore, be it
2-11           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-12     76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to
2-13     Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Miller on the occasion of their 55th
2-14     wedding anniversary; and, be it further
2-15           RESOLVED, That a special copy of this Resolution be prepared
2-16     for this distinguished couple as a memento of this notable day in
2-17     their lives.
