 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 503
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great
 1-4     pleasure in honoring Brandon M. Hill, the President of the
 1-5     State of Texas Future Farmers of America; this is indeed an
 1-6     honor for Brandon, his family, and his hometown, Arlington; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, This esteemed young man has consistently
 1-8     demonstrated his devotion to the Future Farmers of America
 1-9     organization; at Arlington Martin High School, he served as
1-10     Chapter President, Chapter Student Advisor, and Greenhand President;
1-11     during this time, he earned several Future Farmers of America awards,
1-12     some of which include public relations team, where he achieved first
1-13     in the state, and prepared public speaking, where he was fifth in
1-14     the state; Brandon represented Future Farmers of America as a
1-15     delegate to both state and national conferences and was also active
1-16     in leading his area's Future Farmers of America association; ever
1-17     the agricultural enthusiast, Brandon exhibited Hereford heifers,
1-18     Santa Gertrudis heifers, and lambs at many Texas livestock shows;
1-19     in July, 1998, he received his State Future Farmers of America
1-20     Degree and was awarded a scholarship from the Houston Livestock Show
1-21     and Rodeo; and
1-22           WHEREAS, At Arlington Martin High School, Brandon proved
1-23     himself an exceptional, well-rounded student, earning admission to
1-24     the National Honor Society and Who's Who Among American High School
 2-1     Students; he was an active member of his 4-H Club and served as a
 2-2     leader in this organization as well; a successful student, Brandon
 2-3     was admitted to Texas A&M University at College Station; and
 2-4           WHEREAS, Brandon M. Hill currently serves as the
 2-5     State of Texas Future Farmers of America President, representing
 2-6     over 60,000 Future Farmers of America members; Brandon has embraced
 2-7     the challenge of leading this expansive Texas organization; he has
 2-8     postponed his freshman year at Texas A&M University so that he
 2-9     might wholeheartedly dedicate himself to Future Farmers of America;
2-10     among his many duties as President, Brandon travels to high schools
2-11     throughout the state and represents his organization; he offers
2-12     motivation and leadership to countless Texan youth; indeed this
2-13     young man is an asset to our state and a shining example to all
2-14     Texas citizens; and
2-15           WHEREAS, Brandon received the inspiration and knowledge to
2-16     achieve his successes from Kevin Hamilton, his agricultural science
2-17     instructor, and from his father, Marcus Hill, who preceded his son
2-18     as the State of Texas Future Farmers of America President in the
2-19     late 1960s; Brandon's mother, Tina Hill, and brother, Blake Hill,
2-20     are also loving supporters of Brandon, and he, in return, is a
2-21     devoted son and brother; and
2-22           WHEREAS, Brandon will be honored on April 16, 1999, at the
2-23     Arlington Junior League Center with a reception honoring his
2-24     successful tenure as President of Texas' Future Farmers of America;
2-25     now, therefore, be it
2-26           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 3-1     76th Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Brandon M. Hill
 3-2     on his outstanding accomplishments; and, be it further
 3-3           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 3-4     Brandon M. Hill as an expression of the gratitude and high regard
 3-5     of the Texas Senate.
