 1-3                                     of
 1-4                               Felix R. Solis
 1-5           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
 1-6     of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Felix R. Solis, who died
 1-7     March 9, 1999, at the age of 67; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Felix Solis was known as "Mr. Music Man" of
 1-9     San Antonio; for over 45 years, Mr. Solis played for weddings and
1-10     his clients' children's weddings, as well as for social gatherings,
1-11     New Year's Eve dances, and other functions; and
1-12           WHEREAS, An exemplary gentleman, Felix Solis was respected in
1-13     the community for his many accomplishments and his talents; and
1-14           WHEREAS, He had a great love of music and he wanted to be
1-15     remembered for the good times he shared with so many people at
1-16     various events; and
1-17           WHEREAS, A man of integrity, strength, and generosity, he gave
1-18     unselfishly of his time to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and sense
1-19     of humor will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and
1-20           WHEREAS, Felix R. Solis was a devoted husband, father, and
1-21     grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured
1-22     forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-24     76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
 2-1     bereaved family of Felix R. Solis:  his wife, Mary Emma Solis; his
 2-2     daughters, Cecilia Solis, Ann Marie San Miguel, Patricia Saenz,
 2-3     and Kathleen Foster; his sons, Stan Solis, John Garza, Steve Solis,
 2-4     Steve Garza, Felix Solis, Jr., Sam Solis, Simon Solis, and
 2-5     Raul J. Garza; his brothers, Guillermo Solis, Alfredo Solis, and
 2-6     Albert Solis; and his 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren;
 2-7     and, be it further
 2-8           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
 2-9     members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
2-10     Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
2-11     in memory of Felix R. Solis.
