 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 530
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in
 1-4     recognizing Chief Master Sergeant Lerue Warren Hinton, Jr., on
 1-5     the momentous occasion of his retirement from the United States
 1-6     Air Force on August 1, 1999; and
 1-7           WHEREAS, Warren Hinton was born in Bloomington, Illinois,
 1-8     on October 25, 1949; he graduated from high school in 1967 and
 1-9     attended college for one year; he entered the United States
1-10     Air Force in September, 1970; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Warren Hinton completed his basic training at
1-12     Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio and his ground radio
1-13     maintenance technician training at Keesler Air Force Base in
1-14     Mississippi; he was assigned to the 2022nd Communications Squadron,
1-15     Craig Air Force Base in Alabama; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Selected for his first United States Security
1-17     Force assignment, he was sent to Turkey for two and one-half
1-18     years; next, he transferred to the 4th Combat Communications Group
1-19     at Altus, Oklahoma, and stayed there until 1977; and
1-20           WHEREAS, Selected to serve as a maintenance technical
1-21     advisor in 1981 as well as command equipment programmer in the
1-22     Supply Directorate at Kelly Air Force Base, Master Sergeant Hinton
1-23     stayed there until 1985; and
1-24           WHEREAS, Chosen to be the maintenance superintendent for
 2-1     the 2006th Communications Squadron in Incirlik, Turkey, he served
 2-2     until reassignment at Kelly Air Force Base; he assumed his present
 2-3     duties in November, 1990, and was promoted to Chief Master Sergeant
 2-4     in September, 1991; and
 2-5           WHEREAS, Warren Hinton's decorations and awards include the
 2-6     Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, the Air Force
 2-7     Good Conduct Medal with six devices, and the Southwest Asia Service
 2-8     Medal with one device; and
 2-9           WHEREAS, A devoted husband, he has been strengthened and
2-10     supported throughout his career by the love of his wife, the
2-11     former Linda L. Bonge; they have two sons, Kelley and Bradly;
2-12     now, therefore, be it
2-13           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-14     76th Legislature, hereby commend Chief Master Sergeant
2-15     Lerue Warren Hinton, Jr., on his retirement after more than
2-16     28 years of service to his nation and extend best wishes to him
2-17     for his retirement years; and, be it further
2-18           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
2-19     as an expression of the highest esteem of the Texas Senate.
