1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 538 1-2 WHEREAS, The occasion of a 90th birthday is an exceptionally 1-3 joyous one, and Mildred Frances Griffin Hackett of Gladewater 1-4 celebrated hers on January 2, 1999; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Born on January 2, 1909, to William Floyd Griffin 1-6 and Ella Brannon Griffin in Cherokee County, she was one of four 1-7 daughters; and 1-8 WHEREAS, A native Texan, Mrs. Hackett has lived in Gladewater 1-9 for many years; her husband, Marshall Hackett, predeceased her in 1-10 July, 1990; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Mrs. Hackett has been a devoted aunt to her niece, 1-12 Janell Whitt, and her three nephews, Thomas E. Croley, Gary Burke, 1-13 and the late S. Glenn Burke, as well as a number of great-nephews, 1-14 great-great-nephews, and one great-great-niece; and 1-15 WHEREAS, The family will gather in Gladewater over the Easter 1-16 holidays to visit with Mrs. Hackett and renew family ties; and 1-17 WHEREAS, A beloved member of her community, she is noted for 1-18 her courage and exemplary enthusiasm for living each day to the 1-19 fullest; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Charming, knowledgeable, and wise, Mrs. Hackett is 1-21 noted for her engaging personality; and 1-22 WHEREAS, This remarkable gentlewoman is truly deserving of 1-23 the long and happy life with which she has been blessed; now, 1-24 therefore, be it 2-1 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-2 76th Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to Mildred Hackett 2-3 on her 90th birthday year; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-5 Mrs. Hackett as a memento of this grand occasion. 2-6 Barrientos 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 President of the Senate 2-9 I hereby certify that the above 2-10 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-11 on March 31, 1999. 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Secretary of the Senate 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 Member, Texas Senate
