1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 587 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great 1-3 pleasure in recognizing Nancy Faulkner on the momentous occasion 1-4 of her retirement, on March 26, 1999, after 25 years of 1-5 distinguished service to the City of Cedar Park; and 1-6 WHEREAS, During her tenure, Cedar Park has grown almost 1-7 tenfold from the time she started, a two-lane country road has 1-8 grown into a congested four-lane highway, and her office has 1-9 moved from a feed store to a renovated bank building; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Considered an invaluable asset, this highly 1-11 regarded individual served as the only city secretary for 11 1-12 mayors, 13 city managers, and 53 council members which earned 1-13 her the confidence and respect of her colleagues; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Nancy displayed warmth, helpfulness, and generosity 1-15 of spirit in her contacts throughout the years both inside and 1-16 outside City Hall; her calm demeanor, her ability to get things 1-17 done, and her skill at handling difficult situations made her 1-18 indispensable; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Nancy is known as being dedicated to her job and 1-20 her city, and her untiring efforts on behalf of Cedar Park will 1-21 be missed by all who worked with her and knew her; now, therefore, 1-22 be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-24 76th Legislature, hereby commend Nancy Faulkner for her 2-1 outstanding service to the citizens of Cedar Park; and, be 2-2 it further 2-3 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-4 her as a token of the admiration of the Texas Senate with all 2-5 best wishes for a most enjoyable and rewarding retirement. 2-6 Wentworth 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 President of the Senate 2-9 I hereby certify that the above 2-10 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-11 on April 9, 1999. 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Secretary of the Senate 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 Member, Texas Senate
