 1-2                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 646
 1-3           WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is proud to welcome and recognize
 1-4     members of the College of Agriculture Development Council from
 1-5     Texas A&M University; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, The council is a growing volunteer organization
 1-7     of more than 85 men and women who are dedicated to enhancing
 1-8     cooperation and understanding between Texas A&M University and
 1-9     the agricultural community through improved communication; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Members of the council represent agricultural and
1-11     business leaders from Texas and neighboring states, and include
1-12     both former students and friends of the university; and
1-13           WHEREAS, The council is committed to improving educational
1-14     opportunities for students majoring in the agricultural sciences,
1-15     while preparing them for roles as future agricultural leaders; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Since its creation in 1981, the council has
1-17     developed a tradition of supporting students through the
1-18     establishment of several scholarships and program endowments
1-19     and annually provides funds to student organizations and
1-20     special programs in the College and Agriculture Program of
1-21     The Texas A&M University System; and
1-22           WHEREAS, Council members serve as ambassadors and
 2-1     advisors for the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at
 2-2     Texas A&M University and are actively engaged in recruiting
 2-3     students, seeking opportunities for job placement and internship
 2-4     programs, and identifying endowment support for scholarships and
 2-5     special programs; now, therefore, be it
 2-6           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-7     76th Legislature, hereby welcome members of the College of
 2-8     Agriculture Development Council from Texas A&M University and
 2-9     express its sincere appreciation to the council for its dedicated
2-10     service and commitment to higher education as evidenced through its
2-11     student recruiting activities, endowment and scholarship support,
2-12     and its commitment to the Texas agricultural community and industry;
2-13     and, be it further
2-14           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
2-15     prepared for the College of Agriculture Development Council as an
2-16     expression of high regard by the Texas Senate.
