1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 655 1-2 WHEREAS, On June 30, 1999, Raymond David "Dave" Damron will 1-3 retire from his position as director of government affairs for 1-4 Celanese Chemical Company in Dallas, after 38 years of outstanding 1-5 service with the company; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Mr. Damron began his exceptional tenure with Celanese 1-7 soon after graduating from Texas Tech University with a bachelor's 1-8 degree in chemical engineering; from his first assignment at the 1-9 company's Pampa facility to his present position, Mr. Damron has 1-10 demonstrated the dedication and commitment to excellence that have 1-11 been the hallmarks of his career; and 1-12 WHEREAS, He has served with Celanese Chemical Company offices 1-13 in Corpus Christi, Vernon, Louisville, New York City, and Mexico, 1-14 finally moving to the firm's headquarters in Dallas in 1980; as an 1-15 engineer, administrator, and able manager, Mr. Damron has shone in 1-16 all his roles with Celanese and has earned the respect of those who 1-17 have been privileged to work with him through the years; and 1-18 WHEREAS, In his personal life, Mr. Damron is a devoted 1-19 husband, father, and grandfather, an active member of the Arlington 1-20 Baptist Church, and a tennis player of some renown; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Throughout nearly four decades with Celanese, 1-22 Mr. Damron has been a steadfast and vital employee of the company; 1-23 though he will be sorely missed, his many friends will take pleasure 1-24 in knowing that he is enjoying a happy and rewarding retirement; 2-1 now, therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-3 76th Legislature, hereby honor Raymond David "Dave" Damron on his 2-4 retirement from Celanese Chemical Company and extend to him warmest 2-5 best wishes for happiness and success in the years ahead; and, be 2-6 it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be 2-8 prepared for Mr. Damron as an expression of high regard from the 2-9 Texas Senate. 2-10 Carona 2-11 ______________________________________ 2-12 President of the Senate 2-13 I hereby certify that the above 2-14 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-15 on April 15, 1999. 2-16 ______________________________________ 2-17 Secretary of the Senate 2-18 ______________________________________ 2-19 Member, Texas Senate
