1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 656
 1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride
 1-3     in recognizing the Saint Ambrose School of Houston, Texas,
 1-4     and its Rugby Football Club, which is planning to tour England
 1-5     this year in late May or early June, 1999; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Saint Ambrose Hornets will play against some
 1-7     of the most competitive teams in England; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, The Hornets have recently returned from a successful
 1-9     trip to New Zealand to play rugby football, from which they
1-10     gained invaluable learning experiences of the sport and of the
1-11     country; and
1-12           WHEREAS, It was the first international rugby tour from the
1-13     United States of junior high school athletes ages 11 to 14; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Under the excellent tutelage of their coach, the
1-15     rugby football team exhibits perseverance, team unity, and a
1-16     fighting spirit; and
1-17           WHEREAS, The Saint Ambrose School Rugby Football Club looks
1-18     forward to this unique opportunity to see England and play its
1-19     favorite sport; team members will bring honor to their school and
1-20     their community; now, therefore, be it
1-21           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-22     76th Legislature, hereby congratulate the Saint Ambrose School
1-23     of Houston Rugby Football Club as it prepares for its journey to
1-24     England; and, be it further
 2-1           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 2-2     the school as an expression of the highest regard of the
 2-3     Texas Senate.
