1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 674
 1-2           WHEREAS, It is an honor for the Senate of the State of Texas
 1-3     to congratulate the Presbyterian Hospital of Kaufman, which is
 1-4     celebrating its 20th birthday; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Recognizing a need for better rural health care, the
 1-6     Kaufman community accepted land donated by Toddie Lee Wynne, Sr.,
 1-7     to help make their dream become a reality; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, On April 29, 1979, a formal opening of Presbyterian
 1-9     Hospital of Kaufman was celebrated; this newest member of the
1-10     Presbyterian Healthcare System offered service to all of
1-11     Kaufman County, northern Henderson County, western Van Zandt County,
1-12     and southeast Dallas County; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Countless Texas citizens have received quality
1-14     medical care as a result of the dedication, hard work, and high
1-15     professional standards of Presbyterian Hospital; consequently,
1-16     new construction has been ongoing almost since the establishment
1-17     of the hospital; and
1-18           WHEREAS, This hospital began with the generosity of one
1-19     man and the latest addition was the result of the generosity of
1-20     another, Jack Morgan, who donated the land for the second office
1-21     building; now, therefore, be it
1-22           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-23     76th Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Presbyterian
1-24     Hospital of Kaufman on its 20th birthday; and, be it further
 2-1           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
 2-2     hospital as a token of the esteem of the Texas Senate.
