1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 676 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Virginia Urbina Jones 1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens 1-6 of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Virginia Urbina Jones, who 1-7 died on April 6, 1999; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Her death is an irreplaceable loss for her family, 1-9 friends, and clients; she was a woman of great compassion and 1-10 empathy and dedicated her life to those she loved; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Truly a champion of burning civic issues, her 1-12 passion mainly focused on migrants and the disadvantaged; she 1-13 leaves a legacy of commitment and compassion that will serve as 1-14 a magnificent example for those who strive to serve their 1-15 fellowman; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Known to her friends and clients as 1-17 "La Senora Jones," she worked tirelessly for 52 years to cut 1-18 through the endless reams of bureaucratic red tape; her 1-19 dedication ran deep and wide, so much so, that she continued 1-20 her work from her hospital bed till the very end; and 1-21 WHEREAS, Her valued counsel will be deeply missed by all who 1-22 cherished this remarkable woman; now, therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-24 76th Legislature, extend its sincere sympathy to the family of 2-1 Virginia Urbina Jones: her sons, Charles Urbina Jones and 2-2 Rudolph O.
