1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 692
 1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
 1-3     offer congratulations to Stacy and Mike Toomey on the birth of
 1-4     their handsome son, Valens Michael Toomey IV; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Stacy Toomey was formerly chief of staff for
 1-6     State Senator Tom Haywood, and Michael Toomey served as a state
 1-7     representative from Harris County and was chief of staff for
 1-8     Governor Clements; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Valens Michael Toomey IV was born March 3, 1999, at
1-10     6:29 p.m., weighing seven pounds and nine ounces; he has two older
1-11     sisters, Christine and Shelley Toomey; and
1-12           WHEREAS, The birth of a baby is one of the most cherished
1-13     events in the life of a couple; and
1-14           WHEREAS, Now that the long-anticipated event has occurred,
1-15     Stacy and Mike are enjoying feelings of pride and joy; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Friends and relatives of the family received the
1-17     exciting news with expressions of love and shared delight; baby
1-18     Michael's grandparents are Rosemary Toomey Thomas, Jana Upshaw,
1-19     and John Penny; and
1-20           WHEREAS, It is truly fitting that the Texas Senate
1-21     recognize this newborn little boy as a treasured citizen of the
1-22     State of Texas; now, therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-24     76th Legislature, hereby extend congratulations to Stacy and
 2-1     Mike Toomey and warm greetings to Valens Michael Toomey IV with
 2-2     best wishes for much future happiness; and, be it further
 2-3           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
 2-4     Toomey family as an expression of regard from the Texas Senate.
