1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 697 1-2 WHEREAS, On March 25, 1939, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Leslie Smith 1-3 of Dallas placed great faith and trust in the future, and they have 1-4 been amply rewarded as they recently celebrated their 60th wedding 1-5 anniversary; and 1-6 WHEREAS, The world has changed considerably during the years 1-7 throughout their marriage yet Mr. and Mrs. Smith have steadfastly 1-8 embraced traditional family and moral values; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Over the years, Mr. and Mrs. Smith have grown 1-10 stronger in their love and devotion as together they have 1-11 experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Smith have been blessed with a 1-13 wonderful family of three children, six grandchildren, and 1-14 six great-grandchildren; and 1-15 WHEREAS, The loving respect Mr. and Mrs. Smith share with 1-16 one another is evident to all who are fortunate enough to know 1-17 them; now, therefore, be it 1-18 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-19 76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere congratulations to 1-20 Mr. and Mrs. Smith on their 60th wedding anniversary; and, be it 1-21 further 1-22 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 1-23 this distinguished couple as a memento of this special day in 1-24 their lives. 2-1 Cain 2-2 ______________________________________ 2-3 President of the Senate 2-4 I hereby certify that the above 2-5 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-6 on April 21, 1999. 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 Secretary of the Senate 2-9 ______________________________________ 2-10 Member, Texas Senate
