1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 698
 1-2           WHEREAS, In commemoration of his 50 years of residence in
 1-3     Round Rock, Texas, it is acknowledged that Mr. N. G. "Bunky" Whitlow
 1-4     has been unceasing in his support of and dedication to the
 1-5     City of Round Rock, Williamson County, and outlying communities;
 1-6     and
 1-7           WHEREAS, Mr. Whitlow has served with distinction in leadership
 1-8     positions at the Round Rock Chamber of Commerce, The Old Settlers
 1-9     Association of Williamson County, The Kiwanis Club, Palm Valley
1-10     Lutheran Church, The United Way, the Young Men's Christian
1-11     Association, and many other civic organizations; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Mr. Whitlow, earning his title of "the poor man's
1-13     banker," has been instrumental in laying the groundwork for
1-14     Round Rock's current thriving business community by virtue of
1-15     his efforts as a lender and bank executive throughout his 45-year
1-16     banking career; and
1-17           WHEREAS, Mr. Whitlow was a founding organizer of Frontier
1-18     Days and other events celebrating the rich heritage of Round Rock
1-19     and neighboring communities; he was active in the restoration of
1-20     downtown Round Rock and has played a significant role in the
1-21     preservation of cultural landmarks in the city and county; now,
1-22     therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-24     76th Legislature, hereby commend N. G. "Bunky" Whitlow for his
 2-1     outstanding contributions to his fellow citizens; and, be it
 2-2     further
 2-3           RESOLVED, That official copies of this Resolution be
 2-4     prepared for him as an expression of high regard and esteem of
 2-5     the Texas Senate.
