1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 757 1-2 WHEREAS, Jeremy Ament has been honored by the Volunteer 1-3 Center of Dallas County as a 1999 Outstanding Volunteer of the 1-4 Year, and the Senate of the State of Texas takes great pride in 1-5 commending him on this award; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Texas has traditionally produced young people who 1-7 give unselfishly of themselves for the betterment of others and 1-8 Jeremy Ament of Balch Springs, Texas, is no exception; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Jeremy fully understands the frustrations, trauma, 1-10 and stress associated with kidney disease; he started treatment 1-11 in 1988 at Children's Medical Center and has undergone three 1-12 kidney transplants; currently, he spends nine hours of every day 1-13 on dialysis; and 1-14 WHEREAS, With undaunted determination and an unfailing 1-15 commitment to provide solace for others, he has proved to be 1-16 an inspiration; this dynamic and personable young man has 1-17 volunteered over 200 hours in the hemodialysis unit since 1997; 1-18 at the age of 22, this exemplary volunteer is making the best of 1-19 his situation and encouraging others to do the same; now, 1-20 therefore, be it 1-21 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-22 76th Legislature, hereby extend heartfelt gratitude to 1-23 Jeremy Ament for his contributions to the improvement of the 1-24 quality of life of his fellow dialysis patients; and, be it 2-1 further 2-2 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him 2-3 in recognition of his selection as a 1999 Volunteer of the Year. 2-4 Cain 2-5 ______________________________________ 2-6 President of the Senate 2-7 I hereby certify that the above 2-8 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-9 on April 27, 1999. 2-10 ______________________________________ 2-11 Secretary of the Senate 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Member, Texas Senate
