1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 761 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride in 1-3 recognizing Quincy Edward Sauls of Travis County, on the joyous 1-4 occasion of his 100th birthday, which took place April 11, 1999; 1-5 and 1-6 WHEREAS, Born April 11, 1899, in Williamson County, 1-7 Quincy Sauls was one of 15 children; Quincy and his late wife, 1-8 Grace R. Sauls, were also blessed with a large family of seven 1-9 children, 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Having reached the age of 100, Quincy Sauls has been 1-11 privileged to witness events most of us only read about in history 1-12 books; and 1-13 WHEREAS, During his lifetime, he has witnessed two world 1-14 wars, the invention of television, and the landing of astronauts 1-15 on the moon; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Today, he enjoys reminiscing and takes pleasure in 1-17 the companionship of his family and friends; he is currently a 1-18 highly respected and beloved resident of the Sunrise Rehabilitation 1-19 for Highland Hills Retirement Center; and 1-20 WHEREAS, A treasured citizen of Travis County, Quincy Sauls 1-21 is noted for his courage, his compassion for others, and his 1-22 enthusiasm for living each day to the fullest; now, therefore, 1-23 be it 1-24 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-1 76th Legislature, hereby join the family and friends of 2-2 Quincy Sauls in extending best wishes to him and congratulations 2-3 on the grand occasion of his 100th birthday; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him 2-5 as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-6 Barrientos 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 President of the Senate 2-9 I hereby certify that the above 2-10 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-11 on April 27, 1999. 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Secretary of the Senate 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 Member, Texas Senate
