1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 777 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Ann E. Barbee 1-5 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the family 1-6 and friends of Ann E. Barbee in mourning the loss of this beloved 1-7 woman on April 4, 1999; and 1-8 WHEREAS, A woman of kindred spirit with deep religious 1-9 convictions and a great compassion for her fellowman, she will 1-10 be sorely missed by all who knew her; and 1-11 WHEREAS, The eldest child of Lula Mae Emmons and 1-12 George W. Elliott, Ann was born in Overton, Texas, on 1-13 August 27, 1911; she graduated from Tyler High School in 1-14 1929; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Her marriage to Sam C. Barbee in 1931 gave her 1-16 the opportunity to leave an indelible mark on the communities of 1-17 Dallas, Little Rock, and El Paso; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Mrs. Barbee was full of love, strength, and 1-19 generosity; she gave unselfishly of her time for the betterment 1-20 of her church and her community; and 1-21 WHEREAS, A devoted wife and mother, she leaves behind 1-22 memories that will be treasured forever by her family and 1-23 friends; now, therefore, be it 1-24 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-1 76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family 2-2 of Ann E. Barbee: her sons, Clinton and Howard; and her five 2-3 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the 2-5 members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the 2-6 Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so 2-7 in memory of Ann E.
