 1-2                                  In Memory
 1-3                                     of
 1-4                               Leo Cancellare
 1-5           WHEREAS, The death of Leo Cancellare of El Paso, Texas, on
 1-6     April 2, 1999, at the age of 41 was greatly mourned by his family,
 1-7     students, and fellow residents; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, In all his personal endeavors, this esteemed
 1-9     gentleman dedicated his life to helping others achieve success in
1-10     their lives, and his death will be deeply felt by all who had the
1-11     privilege of knowing him; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Mr. Cancellare was a graduate of Irvin High School
1-13     and The University of Texas at El Paso and spent 20 years of his
1-14     life as coach of the El Paso Aqua Posse; and
1-15           WHEREAS, This highly respected educator was greatly admired
1-16     for his dedication to Cathedral High School; in his 10 years at
1-17     the school, he taught, was the athletic director, swim coach,
1-18     assistant principal, and, in 1995, he became the principal and
1-19     president; and
1-20           WHEREAS, Leo Cancellare was a devoted husband, father,
1-21     friend, and role model and leaves behind memories that will be
1-22     treasured forever by his family and friends; now, therefore, be it
1-23           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-24     76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved
 2-1     family of Leo Cancellare; and, be it further
 2-2           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
 2-3     members of his  family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
 2-4     the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
 2-5     so in memory of Leo Cancellare.
