1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 797 1-2 WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is pleased to recognize 1-3 Brenda Purser for her 30 years and seven months of service to 1-4 the state; upon retiring from her position as Supervisor of the 1-5 Texas Department of Human Services in Gainesville, the Senate 1-6 wishes her a happy, fulfilling retirement; and 1-7 WHEREAS, In 1969, Brenda began work at the Texas Department 1-8 of Human Services as a clerk and later became a caseworker; in 1-9 1993, she was promoted to supervisor of the Texas Department of 1-10 Human Services, a position she maintained until her decision to 1-11 retire in April, 1999; and 1-12 WHEREAS, In addition to her exemplary work with the state, 1-13 Brenda is the devoted spouse of Fred Purser and the proud mother 1-14 of four children, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; 1-15 and 1-16 WHEREAS, During her retirement, Brenda plans to spend time 1-17 with her family and pursue her hobbies, which are reading, 1-18 ceramics, and travel; above all, she plans to enjoy life; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Friends and colleagues at the Texas Department 1-20 of Human Services will always admire Brenda's enthusiasm and 1-21 willingness to help; her kindness and generosity will be missed; 1-22 now, therefore, be it 1-23 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-24 76th Legislature, hereby commend Brenda Purser on her years of 2-1 service to the State of Texas; her dedication to human services 2-2 in this state has helped improve the lives of countless Texans; 2-3 and, be it further 2-4 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared to honor 2-5 this distinguished lady. 2-6 Haywood 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 President of the Senate 2-9 I hereby certify that the above 2-10 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-11 on April 30, 1999. 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Secretary of the Senate 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 Member, Texas Senate
