 1-3                                     of
 1-4                                Eva McClinton
 1-5           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins with the
 1-6     citizens of San Angelo in mourning the loss of Eva McClinton, who
 1-7     died April 17, 1999; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, She will be remembered for her devotion to her
 1-9     family, her friends, and her church; and
1-10           WHEREAS, Born April 21, 1907, to Jessie and Hattie Mable, Eva
1-11     was raised in Brenham and attended the local schools; she remained
1-12     in the area until 1941, when she moved to San Angelo; and
1-13           WHEREAS, A devout Christian, Eva joined Saint Paul Baptist
1-14     Church in 1943 and remained a faithful member for nearly 56 years
1-15     until her death; and
1-16           WHEREAS, Eva was a devoted mother, grandmother, and
1-17     great-grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will be
1-18     treasured forever by her family and friends; now, therefore, be it
1-19           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
1-20     76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family
1-21     of Eva McClinton:  her children, Willie, Kevin, Bryson, Gloria, and
1-22     Ruth; and her 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; and, be
1-23     it further
1-24           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
 2-1     members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
 2-2     Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
 2-3     in memory of Eva McClinton.
