1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 804 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize Ira Echols for her four years of loyal service at 1-4 Texas Southern University; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Dr. Echols served as Assistant Professor for 1-6 Curriculum and Instruction in the College of Education until her 1-7 retirement; and 1-8 WHEREAS, During her time with Texas Southern University, 1-9 Dr. Echols had a positive influence on all those with whom she was 1-10 associated; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Devoted to Texas Southern University and to her work, 1-12 she was committed to providing a superior educational environment 1-13 for students from all parts of Texas and across the nation; and 1-14 WHEREAS, Through her dedication and hard work, Ira Echols 1-15 helped to make Texas Southern University the high-quality 1-16 institution it is today; now, therefore, be it 1-17 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-18 76th Legislature, hereby commend Ira Echols for her contributions 1-19 to Texas Southern University and extend to her best wishes for 1-20 the future; and, be it further 2-1 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her 2-2 as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-3 Ellis 2-4 ______________________________________ 2-5 President of the Senate 2-6 I hereby certify that the above 2-7 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-8 on May 3, 1999. 2-9 ______________________________________ 2-10 Secretary of the Senate 2-11 ______________________________________ 2-12 Member, Texas Senate
