1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 811 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize Melba O. Smith for her nearly 34 years of loyal service 1-4 at Texas Southern University; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Melba Smith served as an Assistant Director in 1-6 Materials Management until her retirement; and 1-7 WHEREAS, During her years with Texas Southern University, 1-8 she had a positive influence on all those with whom she was 1-9 associated; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Devoted to Texas Southern University and to her work, 1-11 she was committed to providing a superior educational environment 1-12 for students from all parts of Texas and across the nation; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Through her dedication and many years of hard work, 1-14 Melba Smith helped to make Texas Southern University the high-quality 1-15 institution it is today; now, therefore, be it 1-16 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-17 76th Legislature, hereby commend Melba O.
