1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 831 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pleasure in 1-3 congratulating Leah Michelle Puryear of Angleton on her high school 1-4 graduation on May 22, 1999; and 1-5 WHEREAS, A homeschooler, Leah has demonstrated her 1-6 determination to accomplish the goals she set for herself and 1-7 has fulfilled all the requirements for a high school diploma; and 1-8 WHEREAS, Leah is an exemplary individual who strives for 1-9 excellence in all of her endeavors; she has attended a leadership 1-10 training institute and has earned state and national awards in 1-11 debate and speaking and US swimming and AAU track; and 1-12 WHEREAS, She has maintained an A average in high school and 1-13 Brazosport College while being an active member of her community; 1-14 she has worked for United States representatives Ron Paul and 1-15 Steve Stockman; she excels at playing the piano and is devoted to 1-16 her parents and siblings; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Considered a wonderful daughter by her grateful 1-18 parents, Leah keeps her room cleaner than any of her six siblings; 1-19 and 1-20 WHEREAS, Having successfully faced the many challenges of a 1-21 high school education, Leah now embarks on an adventure into a world 1-22 for which she is well prepared and which holds countless exciting 1-23 opportunities for her; and 1-24 WHEREAS, The Texas Senate is proud to recognize Leah on her 2-1 outstanding achievements; now, therefore, be it 2-2 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-3 76th Legislature, hereby commend Leah Michelle Puryear for her 2-4 superior accomplishments and extend best wishes to her for future 2-5 success in all of her endeavors; and, be it further 2-6 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for this 2-7 exemplary young Texan as an expression of the admiration and high 2-8 regard of the Texas Senate. 2-9 Brown 2-10 ______________________________________ 2-11 President of the Senate 2-12 I hereby certify that the above 2-13 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-14 on May 3, 1999. 2-15 ______________________________________ 2-16 Secretary of the Senate 2-17 ______________________________________ 2-18 Member, Texas Senate
