1-1 1 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 836 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes pride 1-4 in recognizing Charles R. "Chuck" Moore, who retired 1-5 September 30, 1998, after more than 14 years as a civil service 1-6 employee in the Department of the Air Force; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Born in Dardanelle, Arkansas, Chuck Moore began 1-8 his successful career as a noncommissioned officer in the 1-9 United States Air Force on March 9, 1954; he received his technical 1-10 training at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Chuck's first assignment was to Misawa Air 1-12 Force Base in Japan for three months; he later volunteered for 1-13 six months rotational duty at Wakkanai Air Station in Japan, where 1-14 he met his wife, Hisashi; and 1-15 WHEREAS, From 1958 to 1964, Mr. Moore was assigned to 1-16 Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, where he served as a military 1-17 training instructor and base locator; after returning to Misawa Air 1-18 Force Base, he received orders to serve as chief of administration 1-19 at England Air Force Base in Louisiana; and 1-20 WHEREAS, After a remote assignment to Ubon Air Force 1-21 Base in Thailand, he returned to Lackland Air Force Base in 1-22 November of 1973, where he was stationed until his retirement 1-23 from the military on March 30, 1980; and 1-24 WHEREAS, After attending Saint Phillip's College in 2-1 San Antonio, Chuck Moore joined the civil service in the Air Force 2-2 Cryptologic Support Center in 1984 and shortly thereafter received 2-3 a promotion to the position of management assistant in the Storage 2-4 and Retrieval Branch of the Directorate of Administration, 2-5 Headquarters Electronic Security Command; and 2-6 WHEREAS, Mr. Moore later served as chief of the Storage 2-7 and Retrieval Branch and as Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act 2-8 manager; he retired from his career in the civil service as chief 2-9 of Records Management, Headquarters Air Intelligence Agency; and 2-10 WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished gentleman, 2-11 Chuck Moore is respected by his former colleagues and the many 2-12 friends he made throughout his civil service career, and his 2-13 years of hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated by the 2-14 Department of the Air Force; now, therefore, be it 2-15 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-16 76th Legislature, hereby commend Charles R.
