 1-3                                     of
 1-4                                Isaura Saenz
 1-5           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 1-6     citizens of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Isaura Saenz,
 1-7     who died November 5, 1998, at the age of 94; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Born June 16, 1904, Isaura Saenz was dedicated
 1-9     to her work as a homemaker, and her home was always a popular
1-10     gathering place for family and friends; she was preceded in death
1-11     by her husband, Nieves, and her grandson, Stephen; and
1-12           WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished lady, Mrs. Saenz
1-13     was respected for her many accomplishments and her leadership in
1-14     the community; and
1-15           WHEREAS, She was a charter member of the San Antonio Ladies
1-16     LULAC Council Number 187 and a member of the Concordia Social Club,
1-17     Flor De Mexico, and Anillo De La Amistad Women's Club; and
1-18           WHEREAS, A woman of integrity, strength, and generosity,
1-19     Mrs. Saenz gave unselfishly of her time to others, and her wisdom,
1-20     warmth, and valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew
1-21     her; and
1-22           WHEREAS, A devout Christian, she was a member of the
1-23     Catholic faith; and
1-24           WHEREAS, Isaura Saenz was a devoted wife, mother, and
 2-1     grandmother who lived her life to the fullest, and she leaves
 2-2     behind memories that will be treasured forever by her family and
 2-3     many friends; now, therefore, be it
 2-4           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-5     76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
 2-6     bereaved family of Isaura Saenz:  her daughters and son-in-law,
 2-7     Virginia and Mary Louise and Henry; her sons and daughter-in-law,
 2-8     Henry Saenz and Ralph and Marge Saenz; and her seven grandchildren
 2-9     and 14 great-grandchildren; and, be it further
2-10           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-11     the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
2-12     the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
2-13     so in memory of Isaura Saenz.
