1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 877 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Tom Ellis White 1-5 WHEREAS, Tom Ellis White, Chief of Police of the Wolfe City 1-6 Police Department, died tragically on July 8, 1975, and the 1-7 Senate of the State of Texas would like to pay tribute to this 1-8 gallant peace officer; and 1-9 WHEREAS, A man of great ability and unquestioned integrity, 1-10 Chief White was a courageous man who risked his life every day to 1-11 protect the lives and property of our citizens; and 1-12 WHEREAS, This exceptional officer was a man of great bravery 1-13 whose strong sense of duty was reflected in a deep commitment to 1-14 the welfare of others; and 1-15 WHEREAS, The courage and personal sacrifice of this 1-16 dauntless officer in the line of duty will constantly remind 1-17 others of his deep devotion to the importance of a fair and 1-18 effective law enforcement system; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Chief White was a loyal friend and outstanding law 1-20 enforcement officer, and his memory will be cherished by all who 1-21 who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it 1-22 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-23 76th Legislature, hereby honor the life and memory of 1-24 Chief of Police Tom Ellis White for his supreme sacrifice; 2-1 and, be it further 2-2 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared 2-3 as an expression of the highest respect and gratitude of the 2-4 Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do 2-5 so in the memory of Tom Ellis White. 2-6 Cain 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 President of the Senate 2-9 I hereby certify that the above 2-10 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-11 on May 6, 1999, by a rising vote. 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Secretary of the Senate 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 Member, Texas Senate
