1-1 1 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 887 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-4 recognize the Senior Orchestra of Corpus Christi; this energetic 1-5 ensemble's stellar performances have delighted audiences throughout 1-6 the Gulf Coast; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Founded in 1997 by Chairman of the Board of 1-8 Directors Alicia A. Charo, the Senior Orchestra of Corpus Christi is 1-9 comprised of musicians aged 50 and older who perform voluntarily for 1-10 senior-citizen events and special occasions in Texas' communities; 1-11 the Senior Orchestra of Corpus Christi strives to showcase senior 1-12 citizens' musical talents, to promote and foster their self-esteem 1-13 through musical expression, and to instill an appreciation and love 1-14 for music in communities near and far; through their efforts, the 1-15 orchestra hopes to promote a positive image of aging; and 1-16 WHEREAS, The Senior Orchestra is comprised of Founder and 1-17 Chairman Alicia A. Charo, Director Alejandro Charo, Sr., Juan Pena, 1-18 Charlie Boeckman, Patti Boeckman, Elivira Cisneros, Noel Hernandez, 1-19 Pete Salazar, Gerald Cheetham, Evert Karel, Eliseo Reyes, Al Nelson, 1-20 Don Haynes, Brenda Green, Don Bodine, Manuela Newman, Rosalinda Pena, 1-21 R. C. Wilson, Arturo Cortez, Juan Alvarado, Jim Pierce, Al Arredondo, 1-22 Anna Assarian, Jim Ryland, Charles McIntyre, Hector Garza, Pat Kluge, 1-23 Peggy Brasfield, Curtis M.
