1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 896 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize Khomotso Ngwaheng for his outstanding work in the 1-4 office of Senator Rodney Ellis; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Khomotso was a participant in the Texas Legislative 1-6 Internship Program sponsored by the Mickey Leland Center on World 1-7 Hunger and Peace at Texas Southern University; and 1-8 WHEREAS, This excellent internship program, established in 1-9 December of 1990, provides a unique opportunity for students 1-10 from Texas colleges and universities to serve as interns in the 1-11 Texas Legislature and at various state agencies; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Students receive academic credit for participating 1-13 in the program, which combines academic study and research with 1-14 supervised practical training; Senator Rodney Ellis serves as a 1-15 program advisor, and the senator's office assists with 1-16 coordinating the on-site activities; and 1-17 WHEREAS, As an intern, Khomotso has gained firsthand 1-18 knowledge of the governmental process and work experience in a 1-19 political environment, as well as insight into the issues facing 1-20 our communities and our state today; and 1-21 WHEREAS, A diligent, resourceful, and talented young 2-1 Texan, Khomotso skillfully handled the multifaceted duties of 2-2 the senator's office and ably assisted with the needs of 2-3 constituents; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-5 76th Legislature, hereby commend Khomotso Ngwaheng for his 2-6 exceptional contributions to the office of Senator Rodney Ellis 2-7 and extend best wishes to Khomotso for the future; and, be it 2-8 further 2-9 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-10 him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. 2-11 Ellis 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 President of the Senate 2-14 I hereby certify that the above 2-15 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-16 on May 10, 1999. 2-17 ______________________________________ 2-18 Secretary of the Senate 2-19 ______________________________________ 2-20 Member, Texas Senate
