1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 905
 1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
 1-3     recognize Lisa Linney for her outstanding work in the Office
 1-4     of the Attorney General; and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Lisa was a participant in the Texas Legislative
 1-6     Internship Program sponsored by the Mickey Leland Center on World
 1-7     Hunger and Peace at Texas Southern University; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, This excellent internship program, established
 1-9     in December of 1990, provides a unique opportunity for students
1-10     from Texas colleges and universities to serve as interns in the
1-11     Texas Legislature and at various state agencies; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Students receive academic credit for participating
1-13     in the program, which combines academic study and research with
1-14     supervised practical training; Senator Rodney Ellis serves as a
1-15     program advisor, and the senator's office assists with coordinating
1-16     the on-site activities; and
1-17           WHEREAS, As an intern, Lisa has gained firsthand knowledge
1-18     of the governmental process and work experience in a political
1-19     environment, as well as insight into the issues facing our
1-20     communities and our state today; and
1-21           WHEREAS, A diligent, resourceful, and talented young Texan,
 2-1     Lisa skillfully handled the multifaceted duties of the attorney
 2-2     general's office and ably assisted with the needs of constituents;
 2-3     now, therefore, be it
 2-4           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-5     76th Legislature, hereby commend Lisa Linney for her exceptional
 2-6     contributions to the Office of the Attorney General and extend
 2-7     best wishes to Lisa for the future; and, be it further
 2-8           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her
 2-9     as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
