1-1                          SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 933
 1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to join the
 1-3     Houston Independent School District in recognizing Lloyd D. Choice,
 1-4     who is retiring after 37 years of dedication to the young people of
 1-5     Texas; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, As an educator, coach, principal, and mentor,
 1-7     Mr. Choice has devoted most of his adult life to ensuring that his
 1-8     students are prepared to meet the challenges of tomorrow; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, His broad experience and versatility have been
1-10     invaluable to the school district and to his latest position as
1-11     principal of Jack Yates Senior High School; and
1-12           WHEREAS, Through his achievements and abilities, Mr. Choice
1-13     has contributed greatly to the progressive development of
1-14     alternative education programs throughout the district; and
1-15           WHEREAS, As principal of Jack Yates High School, he has worked
1-16     hard to preserve the school's historical ambience while updating the
1-17     educational system to include advanced programs; and
1-18           WHEREAS, His wisdom and experience have been invaluable to
1-19     the Houston Independent School District, which has benefitted from
1-20     his exceptional contributions to the education of children; now,
1-21     therefore, be it
 2-1           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-2     76th Legislature, hereby commend Lloyd D. Choice for his 37 years
 2-3     of service and extend best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 2-4           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him
 2-5     as an expression of the admiration of the Texas Senate.
