1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 981 1-2 WHEREAS, Only two out of every 100 boys in the 1-3 Boy Scout program ever achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, yet 1-4 Charles Wesley King of Harker Heights has recently joined the 1-5 elite corps of Eagles; and 1-6 WHEREAS, This fine young man has displayed outstanding 1-7 leadership through the planning and execution of a service project 1-8 for his community which resulted in the improvement of the fish 1-9 habitat at a local lake; and 1-10 WHEREAS, Wesley advanced through the ranks of Tenderfoot, 1-11 Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching the rank 1-12 of Eagle Scout by following the principles of the Scout oath and 1-13 promise; and 1-14 WHEREAS, In being named Eagle Scout, this personable young 1-15 man has brought great distinction to himself, his family, his 1-16 troop, his community, and his state; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Wesley is an exceptional representative of the 1-18 State of Texas and a sterling example to all who are fortunate 1-19 enough to know him; now, therefore, be it 1-20 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-21 76th Legislature, hereby commend and applaud Charles Wesley King 2-1 of Troop 271 in recognition of his great achievement; and, be it 2-2 further 2-3 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared 2-4 for Eagle Scout King as an expression of high regard from the 2-5 Texas Senate. 2-6 Fraser 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 President of the Senate 2-9 I hereby certify that the above 2-10 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-11 on May 13, 1999. 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 Secretary of the Senate 2-14 ______________________________________ 2-15 Member, Texas Senate
