1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 996 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 1-3 welcome Courtney Grace to the State Capitol on May 17, 1999; and 1-4 WHEREAS, Sixteen-year-old Courtney Grace has been performing 1-5 since she was five; along with her impressive vocal skills, she 1-6 plays both the guitar and saxophone; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Courtney has won many titles over the years, which 1-8 include Miss Universal Talent Winner, Little Miss Wichita Falls, 1-9 Pre-Teen Miss Wichita Falls, United Miss National Talent Winner, 1-10 and Pre-Teen Miss Overall Talent Winner; through her performances 1-11 with Star Search, she became their Youth Vocalist Winner; and 1-12 WHEREAS, In addition to these accomplishments and honors, 1-13 Courtney has performed on the local Texas Gold Country Music Show 1-14 for five years, where she is a lead vocalist and backup vocalist; 1-15 this talented young lady has also been involved with the Johnny High 1-16 Country Music Revue in Fort Worth, Texas; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Two years ago she recorded her first album, 1-18 "Courtney Grace, From the Heart," in Nashville with producers 1-19 Brent Lamb and JB Rudd; and 1-20 WHEREAS, Courtney will be traveling to the State Capitol on 1-21 May 17, 1999, to accompany talented clogging champion Alison 1-22 Lewis; and 1-23 WHEREAS, Courtney is a talented and focused individual who 2-1 is dedicated to achieving success in the music industry; Texas 2-2 is proud to have such an industrious young lady among its citizens; 2-3 now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-5 76th Legislature, hereby recognize the many accomplishments of 2-6 Courtney Grace and welcome her performance at the State Capitol 2-7 this May; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-9 Courtney as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. 2-10 Haywood 2-11 ______________________________________ 2-12 President of the Senate 2-13 I hereby certify that the above 2-14 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-15 on May 14, 1999. 2-16 ______________________________________ 2-17 Secretary of the Senate 2-18 ______________________________________ 2-19 Member, Texas Senate
