1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 998 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to 1-3 recognize the eighth annual March for Jesus Day, which will take 1-4 place on May 22, 1999; and 1-5 WHEREAS, This year more than 10 million people representing 1-6 all ethnic groups and denominations will march for Jesus in 500 1-7 cities across the United States and 100 nations around the world; 1-8 and 1-9 WHEREAS, Citizens of Laredo who proudly abide by 1-10 Jesus Christ's teachings will be joining Christians across the 1-11 nation in this symbolic march; they will honor the life He lived 1-12 and the gift He gave; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Christianity is an important part of the spiritual 1-14 foundation of Texas; this march seeks to remind Texans of the 1-15 Christian heritage of our state and nation and to encourage 1-16 citizens to seek spiritual guidance; now, therefore, be it 1-17 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-18 76th Legislature, declare May 22, 1999, March for Jesus Day; and, 1-19 be it further 1-20 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as a 1-21 memento of this auspicious occasion. 2-1 Zaffirini 2-2 ______________________________________ 2-3 President of the Senate 2-4 I hereby certify that the above 2-5 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-6 on May 14, 1999. 2-7 ______________________________________ 2-8 Secretary of the Senate 2-9 ______________________________________ 2-10 Member, Texas Senate
