1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1013 1-2 WHEREAS, Duly noted as the 127th legislative day of the 1-3 76th Texas Legislature, May 18, 1999, is memorable as the birthday 1-4 of Senate Parliamentarian Walter Fisher; and 1-5 WHEREAS, Born 40-something years ago, Walter is the son of 1-6 Wanda and Walter Conrad Fisher; and 1-7 WHEREAS, After graduating from Del Rio High School, Walter 1-8 moved to Austin to begin an unforeseen seven-year plan at 1-9 The University of Texas; like many students, his studies were 1-10 interrupted by heavy work schedules: in Walter's case, his work 1-11 with the Texas Legislative Council; and 1-12 WHEREAS, At the Legislative Council, Walter had the good 1-13 fortune to work with the legendary Bob Johnson, who quickly became 1-14 Walter's mentor; and 1-15 WHEREAS, Assistant Parliamentarian in the Texas House for 1-16 several sessions, Walter gained considerable knowledge of the ins 1-17 and outs of Texas politics, which he has put to good use as Senate 1-18 Parliamentarian; and 1-19 WHEREAS, When not secreting himself in his second-floor 1-20 cubbyhole, Walter enjoys fishing and bird hunting; and 2-1 WHEREAS, Walter has become a valued member of the Senate 2-2 family, and it is with great pleasure that the Texas Senate honors 2-3 him on his birthday; now, therefore, be it 2-4 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-5 76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere birthday wishes with many 2-6 happy returns to Walter Fisher; and, be it further 2-7 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-8 Walter as an expression of deepest friendship and respect from the 2-9 Texas Senate. 2-10 Armbrister 2-11 ______________________________________ 2-12 President of the Senate 2-13 I hereby certify that the above 2-14 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-15 on May 18, 1999. 2-16 ______________________________________ 2-17 Secretary of the Senate 2-18 ______________________________________ 2-19 Member, Texas Senate
